I am admittedly a fan of Jamie Foxx’s work. One of the things I admire most is his ability to impersonate the greats! His ability to sound like an individual is so spot-on that if you closed your eyes, you would believe you were listening to the actual person.

Ephesians 5:1 says, “Be ye, therefore, imitators of God, as dear children.” The Greek word translated “imitators” is mimetai, from which we get the English word mimic. We are to be mimics of God. A mimic does not pick up general patterns of another person; he copies only the specific characteristics of the original.
When you are in tough seasons and challenging situations are you able to imitate God when you want to ‘be your self’ fully and carnally? Of course, it’s easier said than done.
If you have failed in this area before, I can guarantee that you will get another opportunity, everyday actually, to render an Impressive Impersonation of Christ-likeness, especially when it is more convenient just to be your ‘self’!
