What Would Jesus Post?

When we type in a web address, do we ever consider that at the moment that we are typing the letters “WWW” that those letters are initials that represent, the World Wide Web? Could these letters also represent World Wide Witness? Furthermore, as we write, tweet, update our statuses, do we think, “What do I want to say to the world today?” Do we consider that the omnipresent God that we serve, who is everywhere at the same time is online too? He, who created this world, has allowed us to be alive and engaged in society during this point in history in which the World Wide Web exists.

Has God allowed us to have access to the World Wide Web to use it as a tool or a weapon?

If we are called and commanded to be imitators of Christ, does this commandment apply to our online worlds as well?
(Ephesians 5:1 Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. NLT)

If we are called and commanded to edify one another, is the world wide web beyond scripture’s jurisdiction?
(I Thessalonians 5:11 So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. NLT)

Do our words online reflect the love of Christ?
(John 13:35 Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples. NLT)

Are there things that we are saying that Jesus would rather us be praying?
(Luke 18:1 One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up. NLT)

May we move past our pasts, press reset in our present and update our statuses and our approach to our lives and consider, daily, that God has expectations for us in Heaven, on earth and online…

Here are four questions believers should ask before posting to the World Wide Web as God’s World Wide Witnesses.

-Who is this helping?
-Could this be harming?
-Does my online presence reflect that I am a believer in Jesus Christ?
-Do I want to be known as the author of these words, forever?
